What is a Domain name and why do I need one?
It is necessary to register a company or organization name on the Internet before commencing design and hosting - known as a Domain Name. This should be completed as soon as possible to try and ensure the name you require is available. It may be that the name you require has already been purchased by another company or organization. Do not worry as it is usually possible to register something very close to the name you require.

How do I select a domain name for my company or business?
Domain names should be a minimum of 3 characters in length and a maximum of 63 characters using only lowercase letters, numbers, and the hyphen '-' character. The shorter the better as they are easier to remember and there is less chance of a spelling mistake when potential visitors enter your domain name into their web browser. The number of characters does not include the domain extension e.g. .co.uk, .com, etc.

What extensions can I choose for my Domain name?
Until recently the two most popular domain extensions were .co.uk and .com for all domains in the UK. Due to pressure on the availability of names both within the UK and globally, additional extensions have been introduced to include .net, .org, .org.uk, .ltd.uk, .biz and .info. It is therefore often possible to obtain your domain name with one of these extensions.

How much will Domain registration cost my business or organization?
Registration costs are for two years and are priced according to the chosen domain extension as follows:

Extensions .com, .net, .org, .biz and .info £35.00 each for 2 years registration.
Extensions .co.uk, .org.uk and .ltd.uk £15.00 each for 2 years registration
